Surface Energy Selection
(100%, 90%, 80% )

100 High-temperature Acrylic

Designed for temperature exposure up to 450° F for short periods and/or excellent solvent resistance

Offers slightly higher peel adhesion values than most other acrylic formulations, and has exceptional shear values even at elevated temperatures

Also offers extremely low "outgassing" properties, which is an important consideration for the aerospace industry

Metals
HSE Plastics
200 High-performance Acrylic

Meets the requirements of most long-term applications

Offers temperature resistance up to 350 F and excellent solvent resistance

Peel adhesion values are outstanding on metals and HSE (high surface energy) plastics, increasing in those products with greater adhesive thickness

Metals
HSE Plastics
200MP High-performance Acrylic

Best adhesive for metal and HSE plastics

A solvent-free adhesive which provides the same performance features as our #200 adhesive plus improved temperature resistance to 400° F

Higher adhesion to high surface energy plastics and metals, and has exceptional shear strength

Metals
HSE Plastics
220 Industrial Acrylic

Formulated for general purpose industrial applications and will withstand temperatures up to 350° F

Properties include excellent shear strength, very good chemical resistance, and adhesion to metals and HSE plastics

Metals
300 High-strength Acrylic

Ideal for applications requiring greater initial adhesion especially to low surface energy (LSE) plastic substrates

It's ability to flow quickly makes it ideal for laminating to porous fabrics and foams

Available on an extensive line of label materials, label component systems, and laminating adhesives

LSE Plastics
300LSE High-strength Acrylic

Best adhesive for LSE plastics

A solvent free adhesive which provides a much higher peel bond strength than 300MP adhesive to low surface energy plastics such as polypropylene and polyethylene

Has very good chemical, humidity, and exceptional temperature resistance

Is the best choice for bonding to plastic substrates, oily metal and powder paints

HSE Plastics, LSE Plastics

Metals

300MP High-strength Acrylic

This is a solvent-free adhesive ideal for applications requiring greater initial adhesion especially to LSE plastic substrates

It's ability to flow quickly makes it ideal for laminating to porous fabrics and foams

Temperature performance is up to 250° F (short term) for most applications

LSE Plastics
310 High-precision Acrylic

Provides firmness and high precision strength on a variety of surfaces including HSE plastics and metals

Is compatible with a wide variety of print technologies including thermal transfer and laser printing

320 High-tenacity Acrylic

Provides high bond strength on a variety of surfaces including HSE and LSE plastics

Provides excellent resistance to "flagging" on small diameter vials

Ideal for high-speed dispensing of pharmaceutical paper stocks

340 High-bond Acrylic A solvent-free adhesive ideal for applications requiring good adhesion to a variety of surfaces HSE Plastics
350 High-holding Acrylic

Most universal adhesive ideal for powder coatings

A modified acrylic adhesive ideal for very high bond-strength to many surfaces

Has excellent chemical resistance and holding strength even at high temperatures (up to 350° F)

HSE Plastics, LSE Plastics
Metals
400 High-tack Acrylic

Commonly used with thin films, thin foils and papers

Offers good low temperature performance and peel adhesion to a wide variety of surfaces and will not discolor even when exposed to constant ultraviolet (UV) light

500 High-stability Acrylic

Limited to vinyl label stocks

They are unique in that they are long-aging when attached to most surfaces, and can be cleanly removed from most surfaces up to one year after applications (even from surfaces exposed to outdoor conditions)

Have been used successfully on die-cut masks requiring outdoor performance and removability

600 High-temperature Acrylic

The highest performing adhesive in the 3M product line

Temperature resistance slightly higher than #100 type, offering tremendous shear strength, even in products with greater thickness and in high-temperature applications

Metals
700 High-bond Rubber

Developed for high ultimate-peel adhesion to low surface energy substrates

Consider other adhesives in applications requiring greater than 200 F temperature resistance, outdoor direct exposure to UV light or resistance to petroleum-based solvents

Metals, HSE Plastics, LSE Plastics
800 Removable Rubber

Used primarily on tapes requiring adequate bonds and clean removability on a variety of substrates

Recommended for interior applications

900A Acrylic Miscellaneous

A utility acrylic adhesive ideal for the foam fabricating industry

Offers very good resistance to chemicals

900R Rubber Miscellaneous

A utility rubber-based adhesive ideal for the foam fabricating industry

Offers excellent initial adhesion and high bond to a variety of foams

1000 Repositionable Acrylic

The same type of adhesive used on 3M's popular Post-it (R) notes and related products.

Has good holding on a variety of flat surfaces, but can be cleanly removed or repositioned numerous times

Provides good stain resistance on many surfaces

Meets TAPPI #213 for repulpability
